Cardinals vs. Seahawks: Live Game Grades, Analysis for Arizona

The Arizona Cardinals (4-8) look to end their eight-game slide when they head to Seattle to take on the 7-5 Seahawks Sunday at Century Link Field in an NFC West matchup.

Seattle is 5-0 at home and chasing after San Francisco (8-3-1) for the top spot in the division. Arizona hasn't won since late September and is sliding the wrong way.

All five of the Seahawks' losses have been by a touchdown or less, so expect this to be a close game that goes down to the wire. Arizona limps in at 1-5 on the road, but that win was over a New England team that sits at 9-3 and won the AFC East already.

Just like the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cardinals have lost eight in a row, and their hometown MLB team has posted a win since the city's NFL team. (The Diamondbacks beat Chicago on October 2.)

Skelton gets the call at quarterback as the Cardinals try to sweep Seattle.

John Skelton will get the call at quarterback for the Cardinals as they try to end their eight-game skid when they take on the Seattle Seahawks at Century Link Field.

Skelton was the starter coming out of the bye week but was then pulled in the game at Atlanta in favor of rookie Ryan Lindley. Lindley wasn't very effective against the Falcons, the Rams nor the Jets as the Cardinals continued to slide.

Skelton was the starter when the season opened, and Arizona won that opener...against Seattle. The downside is that Skelton didn't finish that game as he was carted off with an ankle injury. Kevin Kolb came in and finished off the game and the win.

Skelton's going to have a tough matchup ahead of him as the Cardinals haven't won in Seattle since 2009.

The Arizona offense has been riddled with more questions than answers this season. Arizona is averaging a meager 15.5 points per game this season. The Cardinals have broken 21 points once this season, and that game included the defense's lone touchdown this season. That was the win over Philadelphia in Week 3.

It's going to be interesting to see if the Cardinals can get back on track and get the ball in the end zone. They weren't able to do that settling for a pair of Jay Feely field goals in a humbling 7-6 loss to the Jets.

Beanie Wells hasn't been effective as he has failed to crack the 50-yard mark since coming back from his stint on injured reserve with turf toe. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald leads the team with 56 catches, 650 yards and four touchdowns but hasn't been very productive since the bye week.

They face a Seattle defense that is tough on the opposition, limiting them to about 17 points per game. Defensive end Red Bryant and safety Kam Chancellor must be accounted for the Cardinals to have a chance at breaking their eight-game slide.

The question is where is Arizona going to find its offense from? The Cardinals' running game is running on empty, and the passing attack has more turnovers than touchdowns.
