The pressure is building on Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes as he prepares to face Everton at Loftus Road on Sunday.

Despite spending big in the summer, QPR are without a win from their first seven Premier League games and sit bottom of the table on just two points.

Owner Tony Fernandes reiterated his support for the struggling manager during the international break but it seems clear Hughes needs a result in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the weekend.

Unfortunately for the former Everton player, the Toffees have made an uncharacteristically strong start to the campaign, winning four games and losing just once.

Everton appear to have adopted a more expansive approach this season, scoring in six of their nine games this season but keeping just one clean sheet in their last six.

"People only remember the last goal we conceded or the one before but you have to look at the whole picture and how many the opposition conceded too," defender Sylvain Distin told the Liverpool Echo this week.

Hughes will be desperately hoping Everton's opponents don't concede too many on Sunday.
